Doesn't she look great?! Here's GMa two weeks after brain surgery! Don't let her good looks fool you though, she's still recovering. We're thankful for the sunshine today - we were able to take GMa on a stroll outside, and shared a bowl of GG's yummy broccoli soup. The docs gave her a three month recovery time, so we're taking it day by day. It's hard to see her in pain, but I keep thinking of a phrase in one of her priesthood blessings, you may have heard it before: "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it." So true.

So, during the past few days we're eating up our GG time! The girls love to play a special hide-n-seek game with animal cut-outs with GG, they enjoy going on walks to the park with her, and they know she gives good treats! :)

Here's life in the fast lane. Explanation: Church Ball. 'Nuff said. We'll update more after his appointment with the orthopedic surgeon ... til then, there are too many carts at Costco to handle!

GMa laughs and says Alex was jealous of the attention she was getting for brain surgery - so he had to go bust his knee. lol. I think it happened cuz he's 30 now. Either way, I know it's a pain - for him (and a little for me). Since we've added another patient to the family roster, I've got another pair of socks and shoes to put on ... but at least I have two very helpful nurses who want to get Daddy, GMa and GPa anything they need. ;)
{I love you, Alex! Thanks for letting me give you a bad time.}

I love the way that Big Sis is looking at Alex... Looks like she is thinking "who's the freak on the rascal?"...
PS is that from the night of ballin right after I talk to you?
Poor Alex :(

I hope there's not some old lady in the store who has to push her own shopping cart now because they were out of motorized carts.

Your blog is great! I appreciated catching up on Julie's surgery and recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and your family, and thank you for sharing those spiritual experiences in such a beautiful way. Julie is my friend from the temple and we look forward to seeing her there again. Our son broke his knee in church b-ball about a month ago--says when the arms get stronger the crutches are easier! lol Anne Kirby
