Homeschool mascot: Poe Gnomes

Our homeschool is called the "Poe Gnome School of Learning"
... so we just had to be Poe Gnomes for Halloween!! I'm lovin' the family pride!
Now, I can't claim any credit for sewing those cute dresses or my apron
- other very skilled women made those.  BUT, I did crochet the crazy hats.

People have asked me why gnomes? Well, it all started with Papa - we gave him a garden gnome several years ago for a birthday gift, and the little guy is always sneaking around to new spots of the garden and in the house. The girls get a kick out of hiding him. In our school, our gnomes like to do sneaky service - and hence, they've become our mascot.

And our scripture of the week went hand-in-hand with the concept:
"But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth. That thine alms may be in secret, and thy father, which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."
- Matthew 6:3-4.
It feels like we've celebrated Halloween for soooo long. Last Friday we went to Alex's work, to trick-or-treat around the office. His team even made a sweet haunted house to walk through.

At church, our ward had a chili cook off and lots of games. The pic above is the girls with some of their cute friends: Captain America girl, Black Cat and Orca.

This game was a crack up. The classic doughnut on a string had us laughing so hard ... Big Sis chased after it with mouth wide open, and it took only a few seconds before Lil grabbed the string and ate it up.
