Birthday boy and collage chaos

Our main squeeze had a b-day! We had a short window of opportunity to celebrate, after an Scout campout and before a week-long work trip ... so we celebrated a day early and made the best of it. Even thought it took the kiddos and I all day to prepare for our little family party, it really wasn't much - but hey, half the fun is in the planning and anticipation of a part-ay!

So, our prep work started with a chaotic collage. I call it chaotic because of ... well, look at the floor. Every picture and magazine image was carefully selected to represent our adored Dad/husband ...  every piece was cut out to the best of their abilities ... and every scrap was ripped, torn and chucked on the ground by our little, screaming toddler (who didn't want to be strapped into that chair unless he was going to eat something!). The poster took a LONG time to complete ... but, that's because they were enjoying it! This was the girls' first collage. The birthday poster turned out like this:

We had chicken enchiladas, blackberry pie, blackberry icecream, played balloon games and made up games, and watched ....{drumroll} ... Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Does anyone remember that movie? I LOVED it as a kid ... but honestly, it was kinda painful to watch as an adult.

Happy Birthday, Alex!

happy birthday!! (the girls liked this and we were wondering what the toilet meant)

ALSO...Eli is so grown up!!! I'm Major MAJOR jealous of his hair!!! I have 2 basically bald babies over here. Maryn's piggies are hardly even noticable...I just imagine the piggies I could do on ELI!!!! ahhh...

Ah the toilet ... it's because he cleans the toilets with the girls - and they love doing it with him. Ha ha. You know how some couuples get a pre-nup? Well, this was one of our only items spelled out in our pretend pre-maritial contract.

oh that's great! much better reason to cut out a toilet than what I was thinking!!!

And Bedknobs and broomsticks is the BOMB.COM!!!!! LOVE it. still quote it with my sister. I've only seen part as an adult with my girls and they were glued. Then, the tape went to some football game (it was an old VHS that apparently got taped over by a lame sporting event.) anyway...we need to see the whole thing!
