Science: The creation Day 1 & 2

We started a new science curriculum - written by the same people as our last one and similar but more in-depth. It began with the creation, and we're all learning a ton.
For Day 1, we learned about God separating light from darkness. We did several experiments about that, and the kids can't get enough of playing with flashlights, so it worked out well. In the picture above we talked about what it means to orbit the sun and how the earth completes one full rotation per day. I think Lil was identifying where it was daytime in the world at that point.

For Day 2, we learned about God dividing the waters from the waters. We learned vocabulary words like water vapor and firmament. We had a tea kettle create steam for us - and E! enjoyed matching the high pitch scream of the kettle. :)

We also discussed the three forms of water: solid, liquid and gas. We had icecubes to represent solid, water in a vase for liquid and a tea kettle for gas. We learned which forms have shape and take up space ... it made us thirsty for a glass of water.
