Mice are nice; and poems too. I love you, I love you.

We read "Fredrick" and "Alexander and the Wind Up Mouse" by Leo Lionni this week. Then we made our own paper mouse by tearing the paper (the same way Leo made his mice for the illustrations). We also learned about acrostic poems and the girls wrote their first ones.

This mouse is named Fuzzy - so that's how the poem got started.
It says, "Flips. Umbrella. Zip. Zap. Yells."

This mouse is named Lily, and the poem is named "Love."
It says, "Lily. Oak. Valentines. Eggs."

I think the teacher needed to do a better job on this one ... but the kids gave it their all, and I love those little mice and poems.

Here they are focused on their work. :)
