So, to practice some words away from the context of a sentence, I wrote them on paper pancakes - and then she wrote them on the paper pancakes.

She'd read a word and then flip the pancake - which would reveal a new word.
I love their faces as they sound out each letter's noise.
The whole thing made us crave pancakes ... so buckwheat pancakes topped with peanut butter and applesauce was our dinner. Yum.
