This graphing worksheet was somewhere on Pinterest - and it was a welcome lesson to the three tots who love any excuse to pull out their trick-or-treat loot. We combined a few categories, to make it more fun. The girls got the hang of it super quick, while our little guy figured out he could chew thru wrappers.
For more practice, we graphed the types of patterns from our nature pattern book
(which still isn't complete ... this project just keeps living on!) It was fun to discuss how a graph is a special kind of picture that can tell us information just by looking it over. They both made guesses about which pile would be biggest and smallest, and then they got straight to counting.
