Map my heart for homeschool art

This idea was a great follow-up to last week's mapping activities. The idea itself came from a book called "Playful Learning: Develop your child's sense of joy and wonder" by Mariah Bruehl (which I've enjoyed and recommend to all parents - whether you're homeschooling or looking for extra fun and educational activities to do at home). She recommends reading "My Map Book" - a children's book by Sara Fanelli, which shows all types of maps: maps of her bedroom, of her neighborhood, of her tummy after lunch, of her family and of her heart. After we read the book, we too made maps of our heart. We outlined in Sharpie, then watercolored over top. I love them:
