Week 2 of the Poe Gnome School of Learning felt rewarding! The girls are so enthusiastic, that I feel so motivated by them. For science, we learned about the sun. We learned that the earth rotates once in a day, so that means it's day time for some of the world when it's night time for other parts of the world. That's what we were learning in the above pic (it was actually dark in the bathroom, with just the headlamp - sun - shining ... but with the flash, it's impossible to tell).

Outside, we made a sun dial and traced our shadows. It was fun to come outside and check the sun dial at different times of the day.

We also made a game where we'd pull items out of the garage and trace the shadow. Then, when Dad got home from work, he had to guess the item. The girls got really into it.

And of course, we had to do a day of shadow puppets! Some cute library books went right along with this activity. See Big Sis' crocodile and Lil Sis' bunny in the pic above?

Here's Big Sis' bird, Lil Sis' rooster and Mama's llama. lol. Oh how they light up if mama gets into it too.
