Flag FHE

Every once in a while, we have a Family Home Evening that leaves an impact. The prophet of the world has asked all families to set aside one night a week as time to be together; to play together and learn together. We decided to have this FHE be about what we're reading in the Book of Mormon right now. There were two groups of people: the wicked Lamanites and the righteous Nephites. Sadly, some of the Nephites were forgetting why they were on the "good" team - and so their leader, Captain Moroni, got frustrated. He needed to re-focus the people. So, he rent his coat (which got the attention of anyone watching) and then made a flag out of it - called the Title of Liberty. Hence, Alex pretended to be Capt. Moroni .... and it got the attention of our girls (our baby boy felt scared and cried).

We took the torn shirt and made our own flag. Moroni wrote things to help the people remember why they were fighting for righteousness. It said "In memory of our God, our religion and freedom, our peace, our wives and our children." Then he fastened it on a pole and waved it through town. Ours had pictures and words that will help our family remember why we make the choices we make - and will help unify us too. Then we fastened it onto a horse toy. lol. And we ran in the yard.

Everyone waved it and shouted

Here's what ours looked like:
