It amazes me that one week ago today, I left my mom's hospital bedside. I felt heartbroken leaving her. She was learning to walk holding a walker, she was barely sitting in a chair for a few minutes at a time and she still needed a lot of help doing the little things we take for granted. One week later, this strong and courageous woman is walking without holding onto anything! Her blood pressure has bounced back, she's sitting like a pro and she is progressing every day! I'm so proud of her! I know her caregivers are doing an excellent job - Dad is strong and courageous too! And James was able to fly in and spend a long weekend with them to show support. Amazing. My family is amazing - especially Mom, the brain surgery survivor. :)
Now, I know the road to recovery is no where near over. But I also know that Mom will make it through; and she won't just endure it, she'll grow from it. She already is. She's teaching us so much. Love ya, Mom!
