Surprise: Seattle!

I told the hubby to take a long weekend, but details weren't revealed until midway to Seattle. We packed up the car and headed for our surprise getaway! Note: the kiddos did well on the way there, but the way back was ... well, an ear-full. Too much crying. How do families take long roadtrips with little ones and enjoy the drive time? Ours was just a little jump up and down I-5 - but wowzers.

Anyhoo; we made it! The Stumph family took the girls, and the Mr. and I went to see (drumroll) ... The Harry Potter Exhibition. lol! I really love my husband. I mean, I REALLY love him. I am not a HP fan - at all - so this was a gift I could give him and he'd know it was 100 percent for him.

Romantic sidenote: Exactly 9 years ago this January, Alex and I made a trip to Seattle when we were dating. It was then I knew our relationship was "the real deal" ... ahhh. :)
Of course, we took our chubby smiley guy with us. Here we were at a pizza spot.

Meanwhile, the girls snuggled up with Uncle Gary for some books, they played games with Les, Kris and Kasey, and built card houses too. They ate up every ounce of attention!

We even got to see Aunt Shar for the first time, post-transplant!
Look at this woman! She's a double lung miracle.

Come on...not even a little love for HP?? What a super fun trip!! And to answer your question about how families enjoy road trips with little ones?...here is the answer...they DON'T! Its impossible to enjoy road trips if you have any occupants within the ages of 10 months to 4 years.

also, the nursery is super sweet. Colors are dreamy! That boy is going to be a tree-hugger if it kills him. No way out of that one j/k :) He is getting so big.
