Homeschool: Leaf identification

 I love fall. We went on a walk and collected leaves, brought them home and let them dry out from the rain a bit. A day or so later we pulled them out, along with a small leaf identification book we found at the library. This activity promotes close observation to details, as well an appreciation for the variety of nature that Heavenly Father created.  

We picked out a few favorites, stuck them under a sheet of paper and did the classic crayon leaf print. Then, the girls labeled their findings. Big Sis is super detail-oriented, and wanted to make each leaf look just right. I appreciate her work ethic - she applies it to everything she does. Big Sis is almost 6 years old ... Here's her final product:

Lil Sis is doing a great job at putting her letters in order, and she's been practicing her letters. Her attention span seems to be increasing - and I'm impressed with her final product. Lil Sis is 3.5 years old ... Here's her work:
