Stepping in sheep

As part of our Easter week, Big Sis and I had a lengthy discussion about Jesus being our shepherd. We talked about how a shepherd cares for his sheep, knows and cares for each one individually, keeps them safe and nourished, etc. Then we likened that to Christ caring for us, protecting us (when we follow His voice), and nourishing us spiritually. I asked her questions as we went along, and it seemed like she was getting it.

The climactic moment was seeing actual sheep at a nearby farm. A sweet, old farmer even opened a gate so we could get closer to the fence and see a few of the herd. He called to them and they answered back. It was great fun - until, Big Sis stepped in a giant pile of fresh, green sheep poop. Now, those of you who know me well know that I'm a germ freak ... so I tried not to panic. We said goodbye to the sheep and I got her situated on a step while I fetched baby wipes and hand sanitizer, and buckled in Lil Sis. Well, when I came back to Big Sis, the sheep dung had somehow spread to her hands, legs, pants, etc. GROSS.

That's when my cell phone rang. My Mama Mia to the rescue. She simply said, "She's going to remember this forever! You might as well laugh at it." So I decided I would. Good thing too - cuz cleaning up Big Sis was a lot better with a smile. I think I spent a good 20 minutes cleaning her up curbside, then another hour after we got home. Thing is, even after a hose down and a spin in the washing machine, her little sneakers still wreak like sheep. Anyone out there have a suggestion for de-funktifying sheep doo doo?

You really are amazing!!! About the poop... if it is anything like skunk, it takes something like Listerine to get smells out. ahhh... good luck. YUCK! :D
